Consistency (Six Sigma)Six Sigma is a proven quality management process that has been used by many Fortune 500 Companies to improve their products. It defines what attributes are important to our customers and then sets up the DMAIC Process (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) to manage these key characteristics. Utilizing several Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques, the Six Sigma process ensures that the capabilities of SEMO Milling align with the needs and specifications of our customers. The desired result of Six Sigma is a defect level of only 3.4 parts or less per million opportunities.Variation is what our customers see and feel and leads to defects. The primary purpose of Six Sigma consistency is to understand and manage variation within a given process. It leads to an ever-improving process that is predictable and in control as depicted in the chart above. Managing variation out of the organization not only provides better quality, but it also reduces cost and assures higher value. Our Quality Policy states: "Understand and manage variation. The result is superior quality, competitive products and preferred service for our customers." |
